At 8:12 in the morning of Tuesday, October 15, 2013, a 7.2 magnitude earthquake with an epicenter located at Carmen, Bohol  strucked the provinces in Central Visayas damaging all four-century-old churches, houses and properties and left 68 casualties, m0re than 200 injured, 3 missing as of press time. 110 aftershocks were recorded already and continues to occur at this time whith some rains on certain parts of bohol as reported by netizens in facebook. Most of the people are staying outside their homes and in the plazas. No other Claretians were injured or affected except for Fr. Ricardo Salomon, CMF who is currently having his annual vacation with his family in their hometown in Antequera, Bohol. Families of other Claretians coming from the same province have not confirmed yet of their situation.

According to Philvocs Director, Renato Solidum, this earthquake that rocked Visayas is 0.2 stronger than the 2010 7.0 Haiti earthquake that claimed thousands of lives in Haiti. According to Sec. Dinky Soliman, around 342,000 families affected by 7.2 quake in Bohol and Cebu.
