Claret Parish Social Action on the Go

Zamboanga City – With the recent crises that happened in the city of Zamboanga, man-made and natural, the social action of San Antonio Maria Claret had truly manifested genuine concern to extend and to reach out to the victim of these calamities. Under the leadership of Rev. Fr. Angel A. Angeles II, CMF, Parish Priest, he orchestrated a relief operation wherein the social action center catered to the needs of the evacuees settled in the Don Joaquin Memorial Sports Complex and later on adopted an evacuation center situated in Tetuan Central School where the group provided food for lunch to more or less 300-400 individuals.

The operation is a joint effort with the Zamboanga Basilan Integrated Development Alliance (ZABIDA) and Claret School of Zamboanga City (CSZC) where both headed by the Claretian Missionaries in the persons of Rev.Fr. Angel C. Calvo, CMF, ZABIDA-PAZ Founder and Rev. Fr. Mauricio T. Ulep, CMF, School Director. The parties have sought assistance from generous individuals and groups who in one way or the other have donated tremendous monetary and in kind just to sustain the necessities o f the affected evacuees.

With its sincere intention, the operations have run for fruitfully more than a month and culminated last October 29, 2013. The whole Claretian community, with grateful hearts and blazing faith, is indeed thankful to those who have shared their assistance most especially to those who volunteered during the entire operations, to those who cooked the food, to those who unceasingly exerted so much of their time and effort just to make the whole operation very meaningful.
