Tacloban City – Monday, November 25, 2013, Fr. Leo Dalmao, CMF and Fr. Renato Manubag, CMF visited the typhoon affected area in Leyte with three objectives: (1) to asses the area, (2) to visit the families of the Claretians, and (3) to extend its help to the victims. They gave relief packs containing food, clothes, and medicines. So far, they were able to extend help to 163 beneficiaries in Arado, Palo, Leyte and 50 in Brgy. Diit Tacloban City. Thanks to the effort of Fr. Arnold Abelardo, CMF in facilitating the funds for the relief goods.
Moreover, on a post by Fr. Eduardo Apungan, CMF, Prefect of Apostolate, he said: “In behalf of the Claretian Mission Center in Ormoc, we thank the groups that extended their help through the Claretian Missionaries: Claret institutions in Quezon city (Seminaries, parish, school other institutions) through Simbahang Lingkod ng Bayan), Team Energy for the goods and solar energy equipment, friends of the Claretians. Thank you also for groups who were able to enter the areas despite of the difficulties: US Navy for bringing supplies by helicopters to Liberty, Gaas, Lake Danao, Cabintan; UKAid, IOM, U Care, RAFI, Aboitiz, ABS CBN Sagip Kapamilya, DSWD – LGU. Thank you for the help extended by the OCARM, OFM, RSM, RMICM etc. Thank you also for the volunteers, local leaders, BEC leaders for the orderly process from relief preparations to distributions.
