Quezon City. Fr. Josep Ma. Abella, CMF, General Superior of the congregation spent an evening with scholastics and formators last Thursday, September 11, 2014 at the San Antonio Ma. Claret Theology House expressing his expectations to the communities of Claretians. He gave emphasis on the following five key point, significant and relevant in today’s modern world of mission: (1) Human maturity: being aware of the things that give meaning to one’s life; (2) Missionary heart: bearing a heart that is enthusiastic for the mission; (3) Commitment to the community: entrusting one’s self and to remain faithful to the Claretian charism; (4) Taking studies seriously: studying hard to give better service (ministers of the Word) to the people in the future; and (5) Interiorizing the essential values of being a Claretian: securing the human values. “We are witnesses of God’s Kingdom” he said.
Father General also presided the Eucharistic Celebration of the community in the evening and later on, some of the scholastics, particularly those who are for foreign studies had the chance to personally talk with him. The encounter of the Theology community with the Father General was part of his scheduled canonical visitation this year.
