The third day started with a morning prayer led by Fr. James Castro, CMF.
The morning session began with the community singing of the prayer song Missionary Sons of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. It was followed by the reading of the minutes of the previous day by the Chapter Secretary. The minutes were approved with some corrections, moved for approval by Fr. Renato B. Manubag, CMF and duly seconded by the body.
The moderator of the day was Fr. James Castro, CMF. He oriented the body about the day’s activities: Group Sharing and Reporting on the Orientations and Priorities of the Province, Election of the Provincial Superior, Election of the Council and the Discussion on the Pre-Capitular Document.
Just like yesterday, the sharing was done by Governance and the four prefectures. The orientations and top three priorities were reported as follows:

&n bsp; Economy &nb sp; – Fr. Dennis G. Tamayo, CMF
&n bsp; Formation & nbsp; – Fr. Angelito Ancla, CMF
&n bsp; Apostolate – Fr. Julius Boado, CMF
After a short break, the body went to the Chapel to pray before the Blessed Sacrament in preparation for the election of the Provincial Superior. Before the election of the Provincial Superior, the chapter members were given an approval by the President for a three year term after discernment. Then, the election was conducted in accord with the directives of the Claretian Constitutions and Directories. Fr. Leo M. Dalmao, CMF was re-elected Provincial Superior. The body went back to the Chapel for the Installation and Profession of Faith of the newly elected Provincial Superior. Fraternal Greetings to the newly elected Provincial superior highlighted the end of the morning session.
Lunch and Siesta followed.
The afternoon session started with the community singing of the Apostolic Prayer of St. Anthony Mary Claret.
Fr. James signaled for the second part of the election, which was the election of the Provincial Council.
Based on the directives of the Claretian Constitutions and Directories the following were decided by the Chapter upon discernment with the preferred structure of governance by the newly elected Provincial Superior and approval of the Chapter President, namely:
- 1)There will be three prefectures only: Formation-Spirituality, Apostolate and Economy.
- 2)There will be four Consultors.
- 3)The election of the three Consultors is in view of the three prefectures.
Following the Claretian Constitutions and Directories, the new set of the Provincial Council was elected as follows:
&n bsp; Consultor and Prefect of Formation-Spirituality – Fr. Amador Tumbaga, CMF
&n bsp; Consultor and Prefect of Apostolate – Fr. Eduardo Apungan, CMF
&n bsp; Consultor and Prefect of Economy – Fr. Santiago Gonzalez, CMF
&n bsp; Consultor – Fr. Angel Calvo, CMF
It was further agreed by the Chapter Members that the composition of the Tellers for the preparation of the next Provincial Chapter will be retained: The local Superiors of Theology and Curia Communities with the Provincial Secretary and Provincial Superior.
Likewise, it was agreed by the Chapter Members that the Local Superior, Local Vicars and Local Econome will be appointed by the Provincial Superior with his Council. It was also agreed that the Provincial Government will be allowed to appoint four delegates to attend the next Provincial Chapter.
A short break followed.
Then, Fr. James oriented the body on how to go about the preparation of the Chapter Document. Fr. Samuel Canilang, CMF presented the framework based on the reported sharing on the directions and priorities of the Province for the next three years. The framework with five points had to be given details that prompted another group sharing. However, it was urged to have a deeper background on the chosen orientation which is Prophetic Solidarity. Fr. Sammy gave a brief talk on the topic with some reflections coming from Fr. Jose Maria Marquez, CMF and Fr. Matthew. After which, the body went back to the five groupings to give more details or flesh to the presented framework considering the working document prepared by the Pre- Capitular Commission and the Circular Letter of the Superior General.
At 6:30 in the evening, the Thanksgiving Mass for the new Provincial Government was held. It was attended by the different Claretian Communities in Quezon City. Fr. Jose Rovira, CMF, a newly appointed professor in ICLA by the Superior General, was introduced by the Provincial Superior in this mass.
A bountiful dinner followed. Then, the meeting of the Coordinating Commission together with the Drafting Committee was done. The third day ended with hearts full of thanksgiving.
