Quezon City – Seven hundred fifty runners participated the six-kilometer Takbokasyon 2013: Ang Ikalawang Yugto fun-run at Quezon City Memorial Circle in the early morning of Saturday, October 19, 2013. The clear-sunny Saturday morning invited the participants to enthusiastically cooperate from the program proper to the final instructions before the run. Three categories of runners were organized and each of them (26-and-up, 13-25, and 12-and-below) started the run respectively after one-minute of interval and needed to complete two innings to finish the run. Sixteen registered priests and one hundred thirty-four seminarians helped in the promotion of the said event. Fr. Ralden Mercadejas, CMF, the Vocation Director, expressed his thanksgiving and gratitude to the team of organizers – different Claretian institutions, as well as to the minor and major sponsors of the event.
Takbokasyon 2013 was also the venue for the unified celebration of this year’s Universal Claretian Mission Day in Quezon City. Some of the proceeds of the fun-run were reserved by the Vocation Ministry Office for the calamity victims of the recent earthquake in Bohol and Cebu provinces.
TAKBOKASYON’s objective is to build unity among members of the different Claretian institutions. It’s also a way of having a fruitful encounter among the religious and lay collaborators and sponsors. Takbokasyon 2013 aimed to support the Claret missions in the Philippines, most especially the missions in Mindanao.
TAKBOKASYON 2013 was indeed… another event that made hundreds run.
